Tree Toes in Reach Wood
In January 2023, as part of my effort to recover from the endless cancer treatments, I took a winter walk along the banks of the River Wear with my small-format Fujifilm XF10 camera in hand. The short 2.75 miles was the furthest I had walked in 3 years!
It was almost a year later in 2024 that I finally processed the photos I had taken that day.
Among the many excellent photographs, one stood out. I used Lightroom and ON1 to bring out the tones of the winter sun shining on this powerful and stunning tree.
The roots of the tree resembled toes reaching into the earth, inspiring the title “Tree Toes in Reach Wood.”
